Bellingham made his first Dortmund start following his move from Sunderland this month and scored in their 4-3 win over the South African side on Saturday. The 19-year-old also revealed that his goal, where he cushioned the ball away from his marker before firing past the goalkeeper, was something he had practised – so to pull it out was satisfying.

"It's a really nice bonus. I am glad we won but there are still a lot of things for me to improve on personally and for the team. I am really pleased with it," Bellingham told Dazn. "I practise that so many times, not that exact finish, but arriving late on the edge of the box as a midfielder is something you need to be really good at. If you can score, if you can contribute those kind of goals a certain amount per season then you are doing really well. I was really pleased because it was something I practised as a kid and at Sunderland so many times, during training, after training. So yeah, I am really proud of it."

Jobe will naturally draw comparisons with Jude after joining Dortmund five years later than his older brother did. The teenager is an impressive player in his own right, something that was highlighted by his £27 million ($36m) move, but comparisons with the Real Madrid man could hinder rather than help the ex-Sunderland ace.

Jobe's Dortmund side round off their Club World Cup group stage campaign against Ulsan on Wednesday night. They currently sit top of Group F after picking up four points from two matches.
It might not feel like it at the moment, but the future might be quite bright for Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, it’s true that, at least domestically, this season has been nothing short of a disaster. The club sit 14th in the Premier League, and Ange Postecoglou’s future looks increasingly uncertain with every passing week.
However, while several senior players could and should be moved on in the summer, the club have also seen a crop of up-and-coming youngsters step up.
Lucas Bergvall already looks like one of the team’s best midfielders, Mikey Moore has been tremendously exciting whenever he’s made a cameo, and Archie Gray has played like someone ten years older.
In fact, it already feels like a sure bet that the latter will be a superstar for the North Londoners, and in even more exciting developments, Hotspur Way might be developing him a future teammate who’s won comparisons to Mousa Dembélé of all people.
In The Pipeline
Football FanCast’s In the Pipeline series aims to uncover the very best youth players in world football.
Gray's Spurs future
Tottenham decided to spend around £30m to sign Gray from Leeds United last summer, and while it was an enormous amount of money to spend on someone who was just 18 at the time, it’s a fee that’s now starting to look like a steal.
The Durham-born gem was already an important first-teamer for the Peacocks last year, and while there was an expectation that he’d play more of a bit-part role for the North Londoners this season as he settled into life in the capital, injuries forced the manager to hand him more and more game time.
While most teenagers would have understandably crumbled under the pressure of playing for one of the country’s biggest clubs during such a turbulent campaign, the 19-year-old has looked entirely at home and has arguably been more composed than some of his senior teammates.

Moreover, as he did at Elland Road, the “future England player,” as dubbed by data analyst Ben Mattinson, has had to primarily play in the backline for the Lilywhites, making 19 appearances at centre-back, seven at right-back and five left-back, and while he had done brilliantly, he isn’t a defender.
The 6 foot 2 gem is first and foremost, a midfielder, with him spending the vast majority of his time in youth football playing in the middle of the park. So, while he can do a job at the back, his ability on the ball and passing range can be utilised far more in the middle of the park, and as Mattinson said last season he’s a “future £100m” star.
Furthermore, the academy might just be producing his perfect midfield partner in a gem previously compared to the incredible Dembélé.
Spurs' next great central midfielder
This season has seen Bergvall, Moore, and Gray break into the Spurs’ first team, and next year, they could see the same thing happen to Tyrese Hall.
The former Chelsea prospect joined the Lilywhites at the under-8s level and has progressed all the way through to the U21s, where he is thriving this season.
However, before we look at his stats and how he could form a partnership with Gray, it’s worth looking at this comparison to Dembélé and where it has come from.
Well, in this case, it stems from respected Spurs writer Alasdair Gold, who, on his own YouTube channel last summer, described the teenage talent as “Mousa Dembele-esque.”
adam-wharton-mousa-dembele-tottenham-opinion
Now, that is undoubtedly high praise indeed, but Gold gives further explanation for this comparison, saying that he’s “very composed and calm” on the ball and that, like the Belgian icon, he’s “very good at using his body to turn and twist” and “aware of what’s around him and how to use his body to twist and turn and get into pockets of space.”
On top of the stylistic similarities, the Hotspur Way gem also primarily plays in central midfield, which is where he could form an exciting dynamic with the former Leeds gem, with him being the more adventurous of the pair.

For example, in just 20 appearances this season, totalling 1610 minutes, the 19-year-old prospect has scored six goals and provided four assists, which comes out to an average of a goal involvement every other game, or every 161 minutes.
Just imagine him moving up and down the pitch while Gray plays ever so slightly deeper to help mop up attacks and bring the ball out of the defence to pass to him.
Ultimately, Spurs may be a bit of a mess at the moment, but due to the number of incredible youngsters they have coming through, such as Hall, the future looks bright.

Karun Nair has joined Northamptonshire for their remaining three County Championship games this season. The India batter replaces Sam Whiteman, who has returned to Australia.”I’m really looking forward to joining Northamptonshire and getting to play in the County Championship.” Nair said in a statement. “You hear a lot about county cricket and I know Prithvi [Shaw] really enjoyed his time with the team so it’s exciting to have the opportunity to be involved too.”Hopefully I can make an impact for the team while I’m there, that’s the main thing for me. It’s about doing as much as I can to help the team get some wins in these last three games.”Nair had arrived in the UK on Friday and will link up with the Northamptonshire side ahead of their game against Warwickshire, which begins on Sunday. In December 2016, Nair became only the second Indian, after Virender Sehwag, to score a triple-hundred for India in Test cricket. But he has only played three Tests since and isn’t on India’s radar across formats currently.Nair, though, brings with him vast domestic experience. He has played 85 first-class games and was a key part of Karnataka’s double-treble winning teams. Nair has now decided to move to Vidarbha for the upcoming domestic season.Head coach John Sadler welcomed Nair into the Northamptonshire set-up.”It’s great that we’ve been able to secure Karun to come over for the remainder of the season, he’s really keen to get going.” Sadler said. “He’s a high class batter who’s scored something like 11,000 runs in his career and his first class numbers are particularly special.”Northamptons are bottom of Division One of the County Championship, 26 points from safety, and are in a three-way battle with Middlesex and Kent to avoid relegation.
Two serial Championship promotion winners will continue to trade blows at the very top of the second tier table as Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder butt heads for their respective sides in Leeds United and Sheffield United.
Combined, the German and the Sheffield-born manager have both managed to pick up a staggering six promotions on their managerial resumes, with another perhaps falling onto their CVs come the close of the dramatic campaign.
Unlike Farke, however, Wilder has been a success in the daunting Premier League, with the ex-Norwich City boss notoriously guilty of falling straight back down to the EFL.
On the contrary, the 57-year-old managed to pull off an unbelievable ninth-place finish for the Blades during the 2019/20 season, as the likes of Billy Sharp and Co played without fear in the big time.
It’s unlikely that the much-loved boss would be able to do this straight away if his side were to sneak back up to the top-flight, but he will hope his team would be able to put in an adequate fight.
After all, if promotion was to be sealed, United would have to be very busy in the transfer window, with the XI below what Wilder could well have at his disposal in a dream scenario…
1
GK – Michael Cooper
Wilder would likely stick by his number one goalkeeper in Michael Cooper if promotion was achieved, with the ex-Plymouth Argyle shot-stopper a revelation in between the sticks for the Blades since joining last summer.
The £2m forked out for the 25-year-old looks to be a bargain now when you consider Cooper has kept 19 clean sheets in second-tier action this season, meaning he might adjust well to the demands of the top-flight.
2
RB – Jonjoe Kenny
Heidenheim's Mathias Honsak in action with Hertha BSC'sJonjoeKenny
Unlike the ‘keeper spot at Bramall Lane, the right-back position has been a problem area in South Yorkshire all campaign long.
The likes of Alfie Gilchrist, Harry Clarke and Femi Seriki have all lined up here this season, but promotion could result in United finally winning long-term target Jonjoe Kenny.
A deal looked as though it was on the table in the January window only for a deal to fall through after the two clubs could not agree a transfer fee.
Transfer Focus
Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.
The ex-Everton man stands out as an expansive full-back option at current employers Hertha Berlin with seven assists next to his name in the 2. Bundesliga, meaning he could be just what Wilder wants in this part of the pitch.
3
CB – Anel Ahmedhodzic
Sheffield United's Anel Ahmedhodzic
Anel Ahmedhodzic managed to come away from United’s demoralising relegation at the end of the 2023/24 campaign with his head held high, having won 4.5 duels per clash that season, even as the Blades finished rock bottom of the league.
The Bosnian will be raring to go again in the Premier League with the United titan formidable at the back in the second tier, with his defensive expertise currently seeing 14 clean sheets be picked up.
4
CB – Andrew Omobamidele
Much like the right-back spot, Wilder’s men will be light on numbers in the centre-back department next season with loanee Rob Holding returning back to Crystal Palace.
Therefore, the Blades could attempt to snap up Republic of Ireland international Andrew Omobamidele who is shining out on loan with RC Strasbourg currently, away from parent side Nottingham Forest.
The Irishman has come away from his four Ligue 1 contests to date with a 94% pass accuracy on average, resulting in Omobamidele perhaps striking up a healthy working relationship with the more imposing Ahmedhodzic.
5
LB – Harrison Burrows
Harrison Burrows would love to work alongside Kenny in the full-back positions with the ex-Peterborough United man equally a gung-ho body down the left.
Five goals and three assists have come Burrows’ way subsequently, as the 23-year-old potentially prepares to navigate the tricky step-up soon.
6
CM – Hamza Choudhury
Watford's Hamza Choudhury in action with Sheffield United'sTommyDoyle
Wilder would be jumping for joy if he could land Hamza Choudhury on a permanent deal after his loan deal from Leicester City expires.
Already, Choudhury has impressed in defensive midfield with three ball recoveries averaged per league clash, on top of the fact the 27-year-old can also gift his team some needed experience by boasting 57 top-flight appearances.
7
CM – Vinicius Souza
To shore up his team even more in the Premier League, Wilder would likely call upon Vinicius Souza to partner the returning Choudhury.
Whilst he has just one goal contribution to shout about in the second tier for 2024/25, the Brazilian has rarely put a foot wrong when battling away for his high-flying team, with 6.9 duels won per match from his 28 league appearances.
In the pits of a relegation battle, the 25-year-old could gift his team some much-needed grit and steel.
8
RM – Ben Brereton Diaz
Away from those who will be picked to be primarily dogged, Wilder will hope Ben Brereton Diaz sticks it out permanently in South Yorkshire to gift his team some firepower up top.
Capable of playing down the right flank or as a traditional centre-forward, the first of these two positions has given the Chilean a lot of joy on his Bramall Lane return, seen in his promising tally of three goals and three assists from 12 league games.
9
CAM – Callum O'Hare
Whilst Rhian Brewster has been given the nod recently in the number ten spot, Callum O’Hare is the likely figure that will be picked here if Premier League football is on the menu.
After all, Brewster has never scored for the Blades in the top flight, meaning he could find himself out of his depth again.
Moreover, O’Hare trumps the ex-Liverpool man’s numbers in the second tier this season, with a glowing eight goal contributions next to Brewster’s lesser seven.
10
LM – Gustavo Hamer
Much like Ahmedhodzic before him, Gustavo Hamer has proven himself in the past as a somewhat Premier League-ready performer for Wilder and Co.
Ten goal contributions were posted by the former Coventry City man even as relegation loomed on the horizon, with his ever-growing total now of eight goals and five assists from 35 second tier games making promotion feel near.
The Red Devils and Gunners are among the teams with the toughest starts to the new season, but others have been handed a kinder schedule
Happy Premier League fixture release day to all who celebrate one of the most anticipated dates in the footballing calendar. Just because the 2024-25 campaign has been extended into the Club World Cup doesn't mean we can't look ahead to the new campaign, after all.
At 9am BST on Wednesday morning, we found out the schedule for 2025-26, and there were some pretty standout takeaways in the air. How will Liverpool go about defending their title? What can Arsenal do to snatch it away from them? Will Manchester United ever sort themselves out?
The new season effectively starts here, as GOAL breaks down the winners & losers from Premier League fixture release day…

LOSER: Ruben Amorim
According to , Manchester United have the hardest start to the new Premier League season. You can't even blame Sir Jim Ratcliffe for this latest piece of bad news, either.
There does seem to be some initial respite after welcoming Arsenal for the first Super Sunday of 2025-26, with a trip to Fulham and visit from Burnley coming before the September international break. Once the Red Devils reconvene at Carrington though, they have a gauntlet ahead of them.
United return to action with a crosstown journey to Manchester City, before Chelsea head on up to Old Trafford the following week. Slightly kinder fixtures against Brentford and Sunderland then follow, only to then come across the path of Liverpool at Anfield on matchday eight.
The saving grace for Ruben Amorim, who could well be fearing for his job come the autumn, is his side are not in European competition this season and so should be better off having free midweeks for further training and recovery. That's the hope, anyway.

WINNER: Chelsea
Late on in 2025-26, Chelsea (and Manchester City for that matter) could very well run out of steam after their exploits at the Club World Cup, which come in lieu of an extended holiday like most of their other rivals this summer. However, the Blues should, theoretically, also head into the season a little sharper and up to speed. If they can build a lead atop the table early doors, there may be no stopping them.
Enzo Maresca's side will take on only one 'big six' side in their opening rounds of fixtures, and that comes with a trip to Manchester United, who infamously finished 15th last year. Chelsea welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge on the first weekend of the campaign, before facing West Ham, Fulham, Brentford and Brighton before we even get into October.
It's not exactly beyond the realms of possibility that Chelsea accrue 18 points from their first six matches, giving them ample breathing space as they march through another gruelling year on all fronts.

LOSER: Arsenal
Arsenal's fixture list will prove quite divisive. Fans often immediately look at how their team begins the season and gauge expectation from there. In the case of the Gunners, they could emerge from the first couple of months playing catch-up again.
A blockbuster trip to Manchester United on matchday one shouldn't strike fear into the hearts of Arsenal, but the history of this fixture at Old Trafford suggests the Red Devils remain a bogey team even at their worst. That's not the fixture to get pulses racing, however.
Before the first international break of the season, Arsenal must travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, the very team they are looking to dethrone. By then, the Reds will have several new additions on their books in Jeremie Frimpong, £116m man Florian Wirtz and potentially even further recruits. You'd hope for the Gunners' sake they'd have brought in some new, dynamic forwards to try and exploit the chinks in the champions' armour.
But wait, there's still more! On the other side of the September internationals, Arsenal host Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, then wrap up the month by visiting Newcastle. has their start down as only second to United in terms of difficulty. .

WINNER: Thomas Frank
There's a unique strangeness about the job Thomas Frank is walking into at Tottenham. He replaces a universally beloved figure in Ange Postecoglou, who was responsible for Spurs' worst-ever Premier League season last time out, losing 22 games and finishing 17th. However, the Australian will be more remembered for delivering on his promise of winning a trophy, with the Europa League coming back to north London from Bilbao in May.
Though the mood at the club was soured by the controversial sacking of Postecoglou, winning cures all footballing ailments, and Frank may be a tad relieved upon reviewing the fixture list. His first Premier League match in charge of Tottenham comes at home to newly-promoted Burnley, though this could be counteracted by facing Manchester City away on matchday two.
But after that clash with City, it will be another seven league games before Spurs run into another 'big six' side, with Chelsea travelling to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the beginning of November. Like Postecoglou, Frank has the opportunity to string some results together to get his project off the ground, while he will not have the to think about the distraction of a Brentford reunion until December.
Ben Dwarshuis contributed an important fifty when New Zealand A had looked set for a big lead
ESPNcricinfo staff05-Sep-2023Josh Philippe struck a counterattacking century to rescue Australia A on the second day of the pink-ball encounter with New Zealand A.The hosts were in trouble on 150 for 7 and threatening to concede a substantial deficit but Philippe registered a 109-ball hundred, his third in first-class cricket, alongside support from Ben Dwarshuis who struck a half-century to get Australia within two runs.Philippe, having replaced Jimmy Peirson in the XI, came to the crease with Australia wobbling on 65 for 4 shortly after the dinner break. He was soon scoring at better than a run-a-ball and added 72 for the fifth wicket with captain Nathan McSweeney. But when McSweeney edged a lifting delivery from William O’Rourke to second slip, Australia A lost 3 for 13 with Sean Solia again finding success with two wickets.Philippe, who only averaged 14 in the Sheffield Shield for Western Australia last season, stood firm although was given a life at slip as he approached his century. It was his best score in first-class cricket since he made 94 for Australia A against Sri Lanka in Hambantota in June 2022.Earlier, Australia A’s top order had struggled against some probing bowling from the visitors. Cameron Bancroft was caught on the crease by a delivery that nipped back from Jacob Duffy and Caleb Jewell was caught low down at first slip, although did not appear convinced the chance had carried to Dean Foxcroft.Tim Ward fell in legspinner Adithya Ashok’s first over, edging to slip, and Campbell Kellaway edged Duffy after the first break with Cam Fletcher taking the catch having replaced Mitch Hay behind the stumps after he picked up a finger injury.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Having arrived midway through last season, head coach Graham Potter is aiming to reshape a West Ham squad that stumbled to a disappointing 43-point finish in the Premier League. However, significant transfer activity will depend on the club first generating funds through player sales. One major name who could be moved on to balance the books is Kudus, who has already received significant interest from Tottenham. The Ghanaian forward has enjoyed flashes of brilliance in east London but may now be sacrificed to fund moves for new attacking targets. Niclas Fullkrug is another striker West Ham are open to selling, as Potter looks to freshen up his attacking options.

The Hammers face stiff competition from Wolves, who are also tracking Guessand. However, they are operating from a much stronger financial position. The West Midlands club have received a massive windfall of £62.5m from the sale of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United. A portion of those funds has already been committed, with Wolves agreeing to make Jorgen Strand Larsen’s loan from Celta Vigo a permanent £23m transfer. Even after that outlay, Wolves remain in a healthy position to compete for Guessand and are ready to table an offer soon.

DID YOU KNOW?
With Michail Antonio nearing the end of his contract and recovering from a car accident that sidelined him during international duty with Jamaica, a reshuffle in the final third is high on the agenda. West Ham had previously explored a move for Guessand during the winter transfer window. However, at the time, Nice were unwilling to entertain offers as they were locked in a tense race for Champions League qualification. That reluctance has since eased, with Nice now willing to consider proposals in the current window.
