The Australia opener Shaun Marsh was the Man of the Match in his team’s five-run victory against South Africa in Hobart but he said it was “very disappointing” that he didn’t carry on to make a bigger score. Marsh made 78 off 103 balls to lead Australia to 249 for 9, a total that helped them draw level in the series.He also made 79 in the series opener at the MCG, a game which Australia lost. Hilfenhaus’ penultimate over at the MCG had cost 18 runs and contributed significantly to South Africa’s victory. However, when faced with a similar situation in front of his home crowd – South Africa needed 17 to win off the last over – Hilfenhaus held his nerve and conceded only 11.”To have that sort of pressure to deal with and get the job done, I think, will hold him in good stead for future games when he might be confronted with a similar situation,” Ricky Ponting said. “It’s like a batter as well, if you actually get out there and win a game, and get a team across the line, you know you’ve done it before and therefore do it again. For Hilfy that will be excellent for him.”

As per 90min, West Ham United could now sign Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette with the player looking likely to leave ‘in the coming months’.

Valued at around £25.2 million by Transfermarkt, the odds are that GSB and co will have to pay significantly less considering Lacazette can agree pre-contracts with overseas clubs – meaning Arsenal will be eager to offload for whatever they can receive.

This puts West Ham in a strong negotiating position and his strikes last year indicate he would be a more than solid back up to Antonio.

Haverá, a partir de agosto, a visita acompanhada por ídolos por R$ 180, e ainda neste ano o lançamento do bar “saideira”, que criará a integração entre torcedores e ex-atletas. Desta opção ainda não há preço definido, assim como a competição de videogame, e o jogo no Allianz com ídolos do clube.

Nos últimos anos, o tour gerava um faturamento de quase R$ 1,5 milhão, e com a revitalização a WTorre e a Arena Experience esperam um aumento de 30%. O Palmeiras por contrato tem de receber um percentual da receita gerada pelo projeto, mas o recebimento destas fatias está sendo discutido na arbitragem. Por isso, o Verdão não tem tido o repasse de aluguel da arena e outras receitas menores – a construtora também reclama na corte arbitral com o clube o pagamento de valores ligados à manutenção.

Apesar disso, os parceiros defendem que a relação melhorou durante a gestão de Maurício Galiotte, tanto que Guilherme Lipi, gerente de arena do Palmeiras, foi ao evento desta sexta.

TalkSPORT broadcaster Alan Brazil has backed free-agent Jack Wilshere to make Celtic his new club, The Daily Record report.

The Lowdown: Wilshere without a club

Wilshere has been without a club since the summer after leaving Championship side Bournemouth.

The 29-year-old, who has scored 20 goals during his senior career, was recently training with Italian side Como.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted earlier this month that the Gunners have been in conversation with their former midfielder in regards to helping him find a new club, and Brazil thinks Celtic Park could be the ideal destination.

The Latest: Brazil’s comments

Brazil was talking on-air during talkSPORT’s morning show, relayed by The Daily Record, to which he backed Wilshere to move to Glasgow.

“By the way, Scottish football’s not slow you know.

“It’s lively up there, as one or two people have found out when they’ve gone up there.

“But I think the Celtic fans would take to him if he found his form, with his dribbling skills and taking the ball and running at defenders.

“I think they’d give him a chance, they really would.”

The Verdict: A risk?

Celtic have already landed a central midfielder on a free this summer in James McCarthy, however, the Irishman has reportedly been struggling in Ange Postecoglou’s intense training sessions.

On that basis, bringing Wilshere, who can play in three different midfield roles, could be a risk going off his injury history.

The last thing the Hoops would want is to sign the England international, only for him to repeat McCarthy’s struggle and possibly get injured at Lennoxtown.

However, a possible pay as you play move could be a shrewd idea given his versatility and experience at the top level.

Zimbabwe could be as far as two years away from a return to Test cricket after their current situation was debated at the ICC board meeting in Perth.On the first day of the meeting an ICC-appointed task team presented an interim report on the state of the game in Zimbabwe, who voluntarily stepped away from Tests in 2006.The team was headed by Julian Hunte, the president of the West Indies board, and included ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat. They visited Zimbabwe in November 2008 to inspect facilities, infrastructure and to speak to various stakeholders and the outcome was that they were still a minimum of six months away from being ready for Tests again, but in reality that is likely to be much longer.”Pending submission of that final report, the board was told that none of the stakeholders spoken to during the visit were of the view that Zimbabwe was ready to return to Test cricket, with timeframes proposed ranging from six months to two years or more,” a statement said. “The board was informed that both the BCCI and Cricket South Africa (CSA) had offered playing and administrative support to Zimbabwe Cricket.””They will still need the right amount of exposure at international level to be competitive to play Test cricket,” Lorgat said. “The interesting thing is there is a ground that we saw that is capable of hosting international games. So they’ve got the facility at the international level.”[But] I think as you go down the stream and look at the domestic set up, particularly the level of competition that prepares those players for international competition, we felt there was some way to go. It was likely the UK government would have been unlikely to grant visas for the team.Chingoka is not present at the ICC meeting in Perth because the Australian government were also expected to turn down his visa request and Cricinfo were informed that he refused to apply without the guarantee it would be approved.Although it is unclear whether he ever actually applied for one. Gallagher won the award in August with 89.2% of fans’ votes and sealed another Player of the Month triumph with over 47% of votes for September.

The 21-year-old played every minute of action last month under Patrick Vieira, registering three assists in as many games. Two of those came against Tottenham in a 3-0 win, with the central midfielder also winning a penalty against Brighton earlier in the week.

Palace pipped Leeds United to Gallagher’s services on a season-long loan from Chelsea over the summer, and that move has proven to be a shrewd one.
