Southampton have been linked with a move for Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy recently, and considering his impressive recent form, it seems as if he could be a solid addition to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side this summer.

What’s the word?

According to Football Insider, both Rangers and Southampton are interested in signing the 26-year-old ahead of next season and will have to pay around £3m for his services.

Murphy’s contract at St James’ Park is reportedly set to expire at the end of the season and there are a lot of factors still to be decided before his future at Newcastle becomes clear, including whether or not Steve Bruce remains in charge and if they can avoid relegation to the Championship.

Would he be a good signing?

Whilst Murphy has always been an impressive winger at Championship level, producing excellent displays in the second tier with the likes of Norwich City and Sheffield Wednesday in the past, he has never really been able to replicate those performances and goal contributions in the top flight.

In 53 Premier League appearances, he has managed just three goals and four assists, which doesn’t bode well when you consider that the majority of the wingers in Hasenhuttl’s squad have struggled to provide goal contributions this season.

However, the Englishman has been deployed in a right wing-back role by Bruce in recent weeks and has produced some excellent displays, impressing against Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley, with one goal and one assist in those three appearances.

This opens up a new possibility for Hasenhuttl, as the Austrian has openly admitted that Southampton need cover at full-back ahead of next season, so perhaps Murphy could be a solid backup option for Kyle Walker-Peters in 2021/22 should he make the move to St Mary’s this summer.

The former RB Leipzig boss also suggested that Southampton would be looking to complete deals below £10m, so the Murphy transfer would make a lot of sense if his reported asking price is accurate.

Earlier in the season, former Leeds United man Noel Whelan was full of praise for the Newcastle ace, saying: “Murphy is a player with so much ability. He was brought to that club to run, be direct, use that pace and skill that he has with the ball at his feet and now he seems to be doing it.”

Therefore, Murphy’s versatility, low asking price and homegrown status all mark him out as a solid option for Hasenhuttl this summer, so Martin Semmens should definitely try and bring him to St Mary’s.

وتحدث سال عن رأيه في ماني خلال الاحتفالات في تصريحات نقلتها شبكة “Lerufisquois” السنغالية، وقال: “ساديو ماني هو ملك كرة القدم، حسنًا، أعتقد أنه تغلب على زميله محمد صلاح في تلك المواجهة، ساديو لاعب رائع، لقد رأينا ذلك طوال هذه المباراة”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “الفوز ببطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا هو انتصار كبير للشعب السنغالي بأكمله”.

علق ياسر إبراهيم مدافع الأهلي على فوز فريقه أمام الهلال السعودي بالمباراة التي أقيمت اليوم ببطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2021.

وانتصر الأهلي على الهلال بأربعة أهداف في المباراة التي أقيمت على ملعب آل نهيان لتحديد صاحب برونزية مونديال الأندية.

Jacob Murphy may leave Newcastle United for Rangers in the summer transfer window, according to Kevin Campbell.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Arsenal, Everton and West Brom striker has claimed that Murphy may be attracted to winning trophies and potentially playing in the Champions League, and therefore could make the move to Glasgow. The 51-year-old said:

“There’s a good chance for Rangers to get him.

“He hasn’t played that much this season, he’s a Premier League player and he’d be quite a big name to go up there. 

“To play, to challenge for trophies, to play in the Champions League, hey listen, that’s a big stage and it will turn his head. 

“Let’s face it, Newcastle aren’t going anywhere fast are they?”

Newcastle should keep Murphy

There is no doubt that, if possible, Newcastle should do all they can to keep Murphy at St James’ Park and not let him be tempted by a potential swoop from Steven Gerrard’s men.

The 26-year-old has emerged as a key player for Steve Bruce’s team playing in the right wing-back role of late, and given that he is a winger by trade, his added versatility is a very useful asset to have in the squad.

Murphy has contributed a goal and an assist in his last five games for Newcastle in the Premier League (Transfermarkt), showing that he can certainly provide in terms of key contributions.

Nonetheless, the Englishman still has a lot to offer to the Magpies, and selling him in the upcoming summer transfer window would not be a smart bit of business given his recent run of form.

David Moyes will hope to see an instant response from his players following last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Newcastle when West Ham United host Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The Hammers fell two goals and a man down at St. James’ Park before mounting a second-half comeback, only to leave Tyneside without a point after Joe Willock headed home in the closing stages.

Chelsea then compounded the misery by retaking fourth spot in the Premier League table when held to a goalless draw by Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, but only sit above the Irons on goal difference due to a superior defensive record.

Craig Dawson’s first-half red card will ensure Moyes is forced to make changes from the side that lost at Newcastle. So, with that in mind, here’s a potential line-up the West Ham boss could field featuring three alterations…

Dawson being unavailable for his first Premier League fixture since his West Ham debut on December 29 leaves Moyes with a decision to make, over sticking with a five-man backline or adapting his system with the inclusion of an additional midfield option.

Fabian Balbuena will expect Moyes to favour continuity and start the Paraguayan – who journalist Sam Delaney believes was “brilliant” last season – for his first opening call in 17 top-flight games, having come on for Aaron Creswell when leading against Leicester City.

Moyes decided against calling on Balbuena at Newcastle with West Ham going a goal behind in the move that led to Dawson’s sending off, but may now opt to recall the centre-back with Creswell potentially available to retake the left-back position from Ben Johnson.

Cresswell was unavailable in the North East due to the hamstring injury he sustained at home to Leicester, but Moyes confirmed on Friday that he is closing in on a return and will take a late fitness test to see if the 31-year-old has recovered sufficiently to face Chelsea.

Michail Antonio (hamstring), Arthur Masuaku (knee) and Declan Rice (knee) have been ruled out of Saturday’s London derby, while Jesse Lingard is expected to be fit after being withdrawn at Newcastle due to cramp.

Rice being unavailable will likely see Mark Noble and Tomas Soucek anchor the engine room once again, while Antonio’s absence will be expected to see Jarrod Bowen and Lingard lead the attack for the third successive Premier League game.

Pablo Fornals has started each of West Ham’s last three fixtures after overcoming a groin injury during the March international break, but struggled to shine at Newcastle where his influence fizzled out and his loose backpass led to Dawson receiving his initial caution.

Moyes could now look to bench the Spaniard – who he lauds for having “incredible” energy and enthusiasm – and replace him with Said Benrahma, who has offered one more assist than Fornals despite playing 964 fewer minutes in the Premier League this term.

Passa pela minha cabeça terminar o ano no nosso ritmo, ou melhorando para acabar perfeito, como queríamos. Sem clichê, quero ser campeão no Palmeiras. Você só faz história em um clube com títulos. Você já teve lesões recentemente. Como está se sentindo nesta reta final?
Meu corpo está um pouco desgastado, mas com muito gás para os últimos seis jogos. Corro normalmente 11km por jogo, mas quero correr até 12km. Agora, o cansaço não pode te vencer. Tenho algumas dores, mas nada que vá me tirar dos treinos. Já estive muito dolorido, mas estou inteiro do tornozelo, de vez em quando dá umas incomodadas no pé, mas estou firme.

Sonha com a Seleção Brasileira?
Se falar que não estaria mentindo. Mas agora que estou no Palmeiras tenho que me firmar aqui. Estou em um bom ano, agora é seguir no ano que vem e tendo sequência, regular, porque o Tite vai estar convocando para a Seleção quem estiver melhor.

O encontro foi pacífico e contou com a presença de cerca de 30 torcedores.
