What’s the word?

After Kemar Roofe switched the white of Leeds for the purple of Anderlecht, the Yorkshire club were always going to need to look at bringing in another striker.

Besides the young Ryan Edmondson, Patrick Bamford was the sole forward at the club in terms of senior players so their attacking line was looking particularly thin on the ground.

A move for Andrea Petagna had been touted last week but nothing materialised. As such, Leeds look as though they’ve turned to the loan market once again.

Arsenal’s Nketiah seems as though he could be the latest to arrive, according to Ornstein, who claims he is travelling to Leeds to put pen to paper on a loan move for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign.

Orta comes up trumps

Leeds have had a topsy-turvy transfer window, struggling to bring in players of note to improve the team both in attacking and defensive phases of play.

They landed Helder Costa and Ben White earlier in the window but any striker looked to be thrown out the window when Victor Orta said they were 90% done in terms of their plan this summer.

However, that has taken a twist in the final days of the window with Leeds bringing in goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Yet it’s Nketiah who Leeds have demonstrated their pulling power with.

Orta has been somewhat questionable during the transfer window but he’s finally come up trumps with this latest reported move.

Ornstein claims that he was able to make an impressive late pitch which convinced him to reject Bristol City and two other clubs in order to push through a temporary move to Elland Road.

Selling the Marcelo Bielsa vision is huge. After all, this is a manager who has managed some top clubs around Europe and under the Argentine, there could be no better place for someone like the 20-year-old to learn.

We’ve already seen the impact he’s had on the likes of Jack Clarke and Tyler Roberts last season.

If there were any ever doubts over whether the Whites could still attract top talent, this will surely put them to bed. For once, Orta is on the verge of truly delivering for Leeds.

وأضاف: “الأداء على مدار الشوطين لم يكن هو المنتظر من الفريق، لكن اللاعبين تداركوا الأمر في النهاية”.

وتابع: “تمكنا من تحقيق الفوز المهم للمحافظة على صدارة الدوري”.

ويستعد الزمالك لمواجهة تونجيث، يوم الثلاثاء 23 من شهر فبراير الحالي، في إطار الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات لبطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

Everton will look to pick up their first Premier League win of the season when they host Watford at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Toffees had to make do with a point on the opening day of the campaign following a goalless draw away at Crystal Palace, and they may well have been satisfied with that given Morgan Schneiderlin’s second-half dismissal left them with 10 men on the pitch.

Now manager Marco Silva comes up against his former employers, and he has Schneiderlin’s suspension, as well as Andre Gomes being a doubt after he was forced off just before half-time at Selhurst Park, to contend with.

Here is the team we think he will select this weekend…

The back five pretty much picks itself right now – especially after an opening day clean sheet – with Lucas Digne, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina’s spots all pretty secure given the lack of depth in their particular positions.

Djibril Sidibe could soon push Seamus Coleman for the right-back spot, but it won’t happen against the Hornets.

In midfield, it will be a completely different central duo to the one that started against Palace, with Tom Davies and summer arrival Jean-Philippe Gbamin coming into the XI in place of Schneiderlin and Gomes, with Fabian Delph still unavailable.

Ahead of them, Gylfi Sigurdsson keeps his place in the No.10 role despite coming under criticism from fans on Twitter for his display against Roy Hodgson’s men last time out, with Richarlison on the right.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin also keeps his spot ahead of Moise Kean who is still adapting to life in English football, but there is a debut for another new boy in Alex Iwobi, who comes in to replace Bernard on the left wing.

It will be interesting to see how the former Arsenal man fares should he get the nod.

يبدو أنّ نادي كريستال بالاس الإنجليزي، جاد بشأن التعاقد مع مُحترفنا المصري، مصطفى محمد، مُهاجم الزمالك والمُعار لنادي جالطة سراي التركي.

مصطفى محمد مُنذ الانتقال إلى جالطة سراي، ظهر بمستوى جيد، وسجّل أربعة أهداف في خمس مُباريات بالدوري وكأس تركيا.

تألق مصطفى محمد، جذب اهتمام نادي كريستال بالاس الإنجليزي، وفقًا لما ذكرته “Haber Turk” التركية.

وبحسب شبكة “A Spor” التركية، فإن كريستال بالاس، ينوي مُتابعة مصطفى محمد حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري.

وأوضحت الشبكة أنّ إذا تلقى النادي تقارير إيجابية من كشافو كريستال بالاس، سيتخذ النادي خطوة التعاقد مع مصطفى محمد.

وقالت الشبكة أنّ مسؤولي كريستال بالاس ينوون عقد مُناقشات مع مسؤولي الزمالك وجالطة سراي.

Crystal Palace welcome Colchester to Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening in what will be the Eagles’ first Carabao Cup action of the season.

Spirits will certainly be high in the Palace squad after they managed to pull off a historic win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, managing to beat the Red Devils in the Premier League for the first time whilst also becoming the first team to score a stoppage time winner against them on their own turf.

For the game against the League Two side, however, we think Roy Hodgson should make a few changes…

With all due respect, the difference in quality between Manchester United and Colchester is substantial, so Hodgson should be able to afford some game time to those who haven’t got much under their belt yet this season.

With that in mind, we think Wayne Hennessey should be handed his first appearance of the campaign, along with 20-year-old centre-back Sam Woods, who made his first-team debut in this competition against Middlesbrough last term.

Alongside him, a man who impressed the Palace fans on Twitter after making his debut for the club in Gary Cahill would benefit from a start once again in order to build up his match fitness, having not had a proper pre-season whilst being a free agent.

Ahead of them, Hodgson should hand full debuts to two more summer signings in James McCarthy and Victor Camarasa – the former has made two substitute appearances, whilst Camarasa is yet to appear.

In attack, Andros Townsend should start after being placed on the bench against United, along with Connor Wickham and Max Meyer who also sat next to the England international in the Old Trafford dugout.

On the left, we think Hodgson should hand 20-year-old Jason Lokilo a start against Colchester to see what he can do in the first-team, after some fans on Twitter called for him to be involved following his delightful assist in a 1-0 win for the Under-23 side last week.

It didn’t take long for new signings Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi to make an impression at Goodison Park, and the match against Wolves showed how they could be key additions this season.

On the chalkboard

Prior to their introduction at the weekend, in which both players made their first league starts of the season, the Toffees had scored just one goal in three Premier League matches, and had struggled to break down the likes of Crystal Palace, Watford and Aston Villa despite having the majority of possession in two of those games.

Everton have looked lacklustre for much of the season. Their six shots on target prior to the weekend underlined their lack of attacking threat, with question marks over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goalscoring ability.

It is little surprise that the introduction of Iwobi and Kean on Sunday led to more goals. They both provide tremendous energy and their high pressing subsequently led to their opening goal, with the former Juventus striker harrying Rui Patricio into a mistake.

Iwobi showed similar desire for his headed goal, just as he did in midweek against Lincoln. The Nigeria international arrived at Goodison with a point to prove which is so far being replicated in his performances.

Crucially, the Toffees now have competition for places. Richarlison is scoring and could move back into a central position as he did at times last season, whilst Bernard is also well in contention for a starting place having scored against Watford.

Pace and energy

Both Kean and Iwobi are great technical players. Kean proved that with his goalscoring record in Serie A and at international level, whilst Iwobi has also shown he is capable of scoring goals and providing assists. His strike in the Europa League final is a fine example of what he is capable of, but he is a player who can frustrate in equal amounts, as his final product is often underwhelming.

However, as shown in the match against Wolves, their intelligence off the ball could prove very useful, and their energy and pace could cause the opposition to make mistakes. Iwobi, for example, already has four tackles to his name this season despite playing only 104 minutes.

As the pair play more they should get a better understanding of the playing style and what to expect from teammates, which will be particularly useful for Kean as he looks to get on the end of opportunities created for him.
