According to The Sun, Manchester United may be forced to pay £350k-a-week to Marcus Rashford in order to keep him at the club and away from the clutches of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the England international reportedly wants to stay put at Old Trafford and play for United – where he spent years in the academy – but would not find it a hardship to go and play for one of the big boys in Spain.

Alexis Sanchez’s £505k-a-week earnings have skewered the wage structure at United, and Rashford knows that all too well – he is asking for £350k-a-week due to his importance in being Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main striker.

Madrid reportedly invited Rashford’s brothers – who are his advisers – to a game, whilst Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is a big fan of the 21-year-old.

He should be made an example out of

21 years of age. 13 goals last season. And on current earnings of £45k-a-week.

Rashford is still a baby in the footballing world and a club of United’s stature should not stand for being held to ransom by a footballing child.

Some of the club’s supporters have already grown tired of Rashford’s ineffective performances out on the pitch – he ended the campaign in miserable form with no goals in his final eight games.

Other than Sanchez’s huge earnings, there is no valid argument for Rashford to earn that much – it would place him on £150k more per week than Mohamed Salah earns in comparison.

£150k-a-week, coincidentally, is just £30k less than what PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk earns. How on earth can Rashford justify asking for so much?

With just 12 months left on his deal, United shouldn’t pander to the youngster’s demands and should make an example out of him by allowing him to leave the club.

He could easily be replaced, and is simply pushing his luck in asking for so much money. He may be a local lad, but United can’t be pushed around by sentiment either.

Following his arrival at Atlanta United prior to the start of the 2017 MLS season, Miguel Almiron lit the league up. He was one of the main stars of the side, along with Josef Martinez, as they won the MLS Cup in 2018 with the Paraguayan scoring 12 goals and assisting 13 more during the campaign. Although it was amidst the lower quality of US football, Almiron stood out, and it seemed only a matter of time before a European side snapped him up.

It therefore came as no shock when he got his move in January of this year. What was surprising, however, was that Newcastle United won the race to sign him, especially considering they parted with £20m to bring him to the Premier League according to the Panini Tabloid.

For a lot of clubs, that sum would represent pocket change, but not for the Toon as it set a new club-record transfer fee. It had previously been set by the capture of Michael Owen in 2005 from Real Madrid, for whom they had paid £17m and therefore taken them over 13 years to break their highest fee, but for some clubs such a milestone is a near-annual occurrence. The fee paid for Owen is lower than the highest paid by all but two of last year’s 20 Premier League clubs.

As such, it was a big deal for Newcastle, and a lot was expected of the attacking midfielder. But, whilst he impressed with his performances, he flattered to deceive from a numbers point of view. In his 10 games in the Premier League following his arrival, he failed to register a single goal or assist. Next season, he will need to do a lot more to prove he has what it takes to make it in the Premier League.

The transfer record may soon be broken again, of course. Recent reports suggest that the Bin Zayed group may soon purchase the club from Mike Ashley and while there is no guarantee they will spend lavishly, if the example set by fellow Sheikh owners at Manchester City is anything to go by, Newcastle fans shouldn’t be waiting another 13 years to see a record purchase.

وأكد: “هذه هي الروح التي يجب علينا أن نواجه بها كل التحديات، لقد كانت النتائج الأخيرة ليست جيدة، لكننا أظهرنا أننا سنقاتل حتى النهاية”.

وأكمل: “لعبنا مباراة رائعة من الدقيقة الأولى حتى النهاية، يجب أن نهنئ كل من في ريال مدريد، وكل من ساهم في هذا الفوز، لقد كانت مباراة صعبة”.

وشدد: “إذا كنا سنختار المواجهة الأفضل لنا هذا الموسم، ربما سأختار هذه المباراة”.

واختتم بالحديث عن الهدف: “الأهداف عادة ما تكون من اللاعبين الأفضل في الهجوم، أنا سعيد بالهدف بالتأكيد، رغم أن وظيفتي مختلفة”.

Tottenham Hotspur have been surrounded by rumours in recent days, with Jack Clarke’s and Tanguy Ndombele’s transfers to North London seemingly on the verge of being complete. However, maybe everything isn’t as clear as it seems. Today’s Spurs transfer roundup includes an update on that Ndombele deal, a blow in the pursuit of a La Liga midfielder and the pursuit of a French central defender.

Nothing confirmed for Ndombele

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has said that nothing is yet confirmed for midfielder Ndombele. Talking to the Team Duga podcast on Thursday, Aulas said, “If I wait eight more days, it will be €80m (£71.7m). Tottenham made an offer of €45m (£40.3m). Since, we’ve been talking. Nothing is done, I can assure you.” Spurs and Lyon were reported to have agreed on a deal in recent days.

Ceballos wants Madrid stay

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos does not want a move away from the Spanish side this summer, according to Marca. The 22-year-old reportedly still dreams of succeeding at the Bernabeu and does not want to be sold. Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the player.

Spurs to make Saliba bid

Tottenham have told Saint-Etienne that they will be making a bid for their defender William Saliba according to RMC Sport. It had been believed that Saliba was close to a move to Arsenal, but Spurs’ revelation may throw a spanner in the works.

The rumours of Qatari Sports Investments investing in Leeds United just won’t go away.

This week the rumours once again resurfaced, much to the disdain of the fanbase.

Le Parisien this week reported that the financial group that owns PSG want to buy shares in the Yorkshire club in order to make them the French champions’ ‘little brothers’.

We’ve heard in previous reports that Leeds would be able to loan players from the European giants, but other stories this week have states that QSI see the Whites as something of a feeder club for PSG.

This part of the story just doesn’t add up. If QSI wanted to invest in a team in order to use them as a feeder club, Leeds United certainly aren’t the best option.

This might sound a bit harsh on the Whites’ academy, but it’s been almost 20 years since they have produced a player anywhere near good enough to play alongside world superstars such as Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at PSG.

Indeed, when looking at a list of Leeds’ academy graduates the only real candidate from the past two decades who can be considered good enough for the French giants is James Milner.

During that time Leeds have had academy graduates they can be proud of. Fabian Delph and Lewis Cook have become England internationals, and Charlie Taylor has become a Premier League regular after playing 38 games for Burnley last season. But if we’re being honest none of those players are good enough to play for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

If QSI are indeed seriously interested in investing in the Elland Road outfit, then there must be more factors at play than wanting to use them as a feeder club as their track record of producing top-class talents just isn’t up to scratch.

كشفت تقارير صحفية سودانية النقاب عن موعد وصول المدير الفني الجديد لفريق الكرة الأول بنادي المريخ.

ويستعد المريخ لمواجهة الأهلي في أولى مباريات دور المجموعات من بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا لنسخة الموسم الحالي 2020-2021. 

وأوضحت صحيفة كوفروتر السودانية، أن نصر الدين النابي سيصل إلى الخرطوم يوم السبت المقبل لتولي مهمة فريق المريخ رسميًا بعد التعاقد معه.

ومن المقرر أن يصل النابي رفقة جهازه المعاون، وأن يكون في استقباله مسؤولي نادي المريخ.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن مجموعة الأهلي والمريخ السوداني تضم إلى جوارهما فيتا كلوب الكونغولي وسيمبا الكونغولي.

ويذكر، أن نصر الدين النابي قد تولى مهمة الإسماعيلي، قبل أن يعلن مسؤولو الدراويش إقالته في يناير 2016.

أصبح لاعب وسط الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي يوفنتوس، سامي خضيرة، على أبواب العودة مرة أخرى إلى الدوري الألماني بعد غياب دام أكثر من 10 سنوات وقبل نهاية الميركاتو الشتوي.

ورحل خضيرة عن الدوري الألماني في صيف عام 2010 عندما انتقل من صفوف شتوتجارت إلى ريال مدريد، بعد نهائيات كأس العالم في جنوب إفريقيا.

وينتهي عقد خضيرة مع يوفنتوس في نهاية الموسم الحالي في 30 يونيو المقبل، ولكن يبدو وأنه لن يكمل ما تبقى من عقده مع البيانكونيري، بحسب صحيفة “كيكر” الألمانية.

وأفادت الصحيفة الشهيرة أن خضيرة من المقرر أن يخضع للكشف الطبي خلال ساعات اليوم في نادي هيرتا برلين، بعدما فقد مكانه في تشكيل يوفنتوس مع المدرب الحالي، أندريا بيرلو، والذي استبعده أيضًا من قائمة بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا.

وكانت آخر مباراة مع يوفنتوس له تعود إلى يونيو 2020 مع المدير الفني السابق، ماوريسيو ساري، حيث لم يشارك أبدًا مع بيرلو.

وبحسب التقرير الألماني، من المتوقع أن يكون عقد خضيرة مع هيرتا برلين لمدة عامين ونصف ليعود من جديد إلى البوندزليجا.
