Chelsea and French side Saint-Etienne have struck an agreement over a deal worth around £12 million ($15m) that will see the 19-year-old move to Stamford Bridge ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday, reports.

Enzo Maresca's side have been in the market for a new midfielder for some time and turned their attention to the France Under-19 international late in the window, having also considered a move for Sporting CP's Dario Essugo.

Amougou joined Saint-Etienne's youth academy at the age of 15 and made his senior debut in 2023. He has made 17 Ligue 1 appearances this season, nine of which have been as a starter.
